RYA Powerboat Instructor
The necessary qualification to enable practical instructors to:
- Work as an RYA Powerboat Instructor at an RYA Training Centre, teaching up to Powerboat Level 2
- Establish an RYA Training Centre as a Principal or Chief Instructor
- Deliver the CBES Club Safety Boat Operator Course
Powerboat Level 2 Instructor
Duration: 3 Days
Cost: $500
Prerequisites: Powerboat Level 2 and practical teaching experience.
Next course: 15th - 17th August 2008, Auckland Region.
Advanced Powerboat instructor
Duration: 6 Days (or 2 Days for existing Powerboat Level 2 Instructors)
Cost: $1,000 (or $400 for existing Powerboat Level 2 Instructors)
Prerequisites: RYA/MCA Advanced Powerboat Certificate of Competence and practical teaching experience.

- In most cases practical instructors will also require a Maritime New Zealand commercial qualification.
