  • Courtesy to other water users

Instruction Afloat

1. Launching and Familiarisation

  • Launching from trailer
  • Control at slow speed
  • Falling off and re-boarding
  • Capsize and righting
  • Control at speed
  • Stopping distances

2. Orientation

  • Following a planned route
  • Identifying buoys and marks

3. Collision avoidance

  • Recognising potential collision situations and taking correct avoiding action

4. Control at speed

  • Slalom exercise

5. Emergencies

  • Towing a PWC
  • Knots
  • Distress signals

6. Recovery

  • Storage & trailering preparations
